2016 Golden Mile Fundraiser

daily living centerSupport the 2016 Golden Mile Fundraiser – Sunday, May 1, 2016, at 2 p.m.

Why support the Golden Mile?

You Care About People Whom Others Overlook.

You care about our community’s most vulnerable populations— people with disabilities and age-related conditions—and their caregivers.

You Want To Change The Way Our Community Provides Long-Term Care.

You’ll be supporting a personcentered philosophy of care that emphasizes wellness, activity, and the ability of individuals to remain at home by having daytime care at the DLC. Remaining at home greatly impacts the lives of our participants, caregivers, their families, and our community. The quality and reliability of care is demonstrated by Curtis Allen, who has attended the center every day for over 28 years, keeping him home with family and a part of our community!

You Want To Make A Difference That Will Improve Life Today.

The family member of one participant explains, “If I didn’t have the center to depend on I feel certain that I wouldn’t have been able to take care of mom for as long as I have.” For this family, the Daily Living Center is a trusted partner that helps make each day the best it can be. A donation to the Golden Mile provides more than a promise for the future. It provides real value in the present!

The Golden Mile will continue to support the work of Daily Living Center:

•Affordable, reliable day time health care for adults needing assistance

•Caregiver respite

•Planned activities to help care for the physical, mental, emotional and social well-being of participants •Professional staff of nurses and certified nurses’ aids

•Hot lunch and snacks.

The Golden Mile Registration will begin at 2 p.m. at the Center. The walk will proceed from the Center around William Perry Elementary School. Fellowship, refreshments and a prize for top fund raiser will follow the walk at the Center.

We Hope You Are Willing To Help. Here’s How:

• Call, email, or return the bottom of this sheet to the Center with your information by April 22, 2016.

•Tell everyone you know what you are doing and why, and ask them if they will help you raise at least $150.

This donation is tax-deductible and $150 earns you a Golden Mile tee shirt.
