Fighting depression in the elderly around the holidays

Most of us anticipate the fun of the holidays, but there’s one group of people who can feel down this time of year.¬†Depression is common for the elderly during the holiday season. Things such as chronic health issues and the loss of loved ones can make the holidays an especially difficult time of year.

Leigh Ann Quesenberry, of the Daily Living Center, suggests helping your loved ones combat feelings of loneliness by helping them keep up their favorite holiday traditions.
